wonder'neath - "Collaboration makes big dreams possible." (Mark Cooper)

wonder'neath was a temporary fantastical space created with grade 5/6 students at SJAM through a stayed effort schoolArts program.

The idea was that working with others really allows us to stretch our own possibilities and opens us up to new experiences.  We worked over six sessions  to create a large scale, layered, mixed media artwork that was shared in a performance for the school community.

A giant canopy was unwound and opened for the audience to enter and share.  Inside hung 'objects of wonder' that moved and swayed as the students (dressed in shiny gold capes!) held up the canopy using 10 large poles.

Hands Togethers - IWK Centennial Project

June 2009, IWK Children's Hospital, Halifax, NS

Working directly with IWK patients and their families, staff, visitors, and volunteers over a two-day period, we created a site-specific felted mural celebrating the strength and diversity of the IWK community.

Webslingers: Drawing in Space

17, 18, 19 November 2009 St. Joseph's A. MacKay School Halifax, NS

As part of SchoolARTS, we created a dynamic workshop for grade five and six students to explore drawing, sculpture, multiples, and inter-connectivity.  By working together the students were able to create a giant web out of found objects that is suspended from the ceiling of the school.
